Position Title: Senior Credit Specialist & Collector
Reports to: AR Manager
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Job Summary:
Responsible for: collections of AR aging for approximately 300 customer accounts; weekly/monthly A/R status reports and tracking; collection calls and e-mails to meet weekly cash goal and maintain customer accounts within terms; trend monitoring and customer account updates for general information, D&B, CSLB, SOS, etc.; verifying prelims and completing lien releases; dispute tracking, investigation, and resolution; proper escalation of accounts; support the credit/collections team with general questions
Essential Duties:
- Manage all assigned customer account information
- Maintain internal reporting with A/R Aging, per customer, based on required information
- Monitor customer trends for changes in volume, credit status/limit, disputes, etc.
- Build personal connections with appropriate customer personnel
- Reconcile all discrepancies on account including instances of short payment, over payment, double payment, incomplete/missing payment remittance, etc.
- Negotiate and resolve conflicts with customers
- Execute a comprehensive collection strategy through oral and written communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Expedite payment for past due invoices by contacting customers, investigating circumstances of non-payment
- Establish and achieve monthly goals to reduce customer delinquency
- Prepare and send weekly/monthly A/R status reports, aging, lien releases
- Verify existing preliminary notice information and need for additional action
- Escalate accounts for payment demand letters, bond claims, etc.
- E-mail invoice copies when requested
- Act as the first line responder and subject matter expert for general team member questions
Required Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Construction Industry Standards
- California Mechanic’s lien law and other States where TMI has presence
- Active knowledge of the Windows environment
- Active knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)

Minimum Education and Experience:
- High School/College degree or equivalent with 4-5 years of related experience.
