Traditions Performance Firearms® is looking for a Product Development Manager to join our team!
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, minimum 3-years industry work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Firearms Knowledge with technical product knowledge.
- Experience in competitive analysis, pricing, planning, inventory control
- Connections to firearms industry and up to date on news and trends.
- Excellent project management and execution with attention to detail
- People Management skills ability to communicate professionally both internally and externally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to determine development priorities within proposed projects.
- Implement a fast-paced product development and product innovation system to bring forth products in a timely manner.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the technical development of new products.
- Ensure product development utilizes incorporating all pertinent design objectives such as cost, manufacturability, safety, etc.
- Manage and maintain Technical Product Roadmap and scheduling.
- Define, develop, and maintain product testing protocols for each product and conduct testing in accordance with each product’s testing protocol with regular reports.
- Map out the company’s product pipeline and identify gaps and/or unnecessary redundancies.
- Define existing product changes and new product requirements with a focus on the technical requirements for each product.
- Work closely with Marketing to establish needs in technical information for both sales staff and consumer market, comprising both print and video media/social media venues.
- Ensure the design and execution of new products support the overall strategic product direction of the company.
- Provide Sales, Customer Service, Marketing and specific customers with product knowledge through comprehensive product training and/or print media information.
- Assist legal and Senior Management Officers.
- Work closely with international vendors and engineers on proposed projects.
- Define, adapt, or improve Key processes including but are not limited to Product Lifecycle Management, Quality Control Reports, and Competitive Analysis in price and technical ability between multiple vendors on new projects.
- Position does require regularly scheduled international travel as well as domestic travel including but not limited to tradeshows, shoots, etc.
