OVERVIEW:
Traditions of America - a national leader in the development of 55 active lifestyle communities is seeking a Director of Land Development for the Pittsburgh, PA area. The Director of Land Development for the Pittsburgh region will manage entitlements, supervision of third-party experts, predevelopment permitting, approvals, municipal public meetings and manage due diligence for future communities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend and present on behalf of Traditions of America at public meetings.
- Manage outside engineers, lawyers, and consultants.
- Direct all government permits and approvals.
- Assist Land Development Manager in smooth start to site development.
- Support acquisition activities through evaluating yields, risks, and feasibility.
- Prepare preliminary budgets.
- Recruit contractors.
- Assist in negotiation of contracts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in urban planning, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 5 Years of relevant experience.
- Significant municipal experience required.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem analysis.
The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects, competing tasks and demands and seek supervisory assistance as appropriate.
