Job Description

As an Architectural CAD Designer working for Tradition Homes, you will be coordinating with certain Tradition Team Members in addition to certain external firms, consultants, and contractors. This is a critical position in the organization that will be expected to have a quality and professional relationship with the Operations, Construction, Purchasing, and Community Sales Teams. This person must be a highly motivated individual who ensures the highest quality of product is generated both timely and accurately.

Job Responsibilities

Attend regular design and planning meetings as needed

Stay as current as possible on all modern advancements in material and software technologies

Provide support to Operations, Construction, Purchasing, and Sales Teams by producing precise construction drawings

Construction documentation and detailing

Creating address-specific construction documents for permitting and construction

Creating master plan computer-aided (CAD) drafting based on concept drawings and schematics either internally or from an Architectural Consultant

As needed, research applicable codes and ordinances for assigned projects

Assist with construction administration duties such as requests for information and ARC master plan submittals

Occasional site visits to check on accuracy related to the design and details of plans

Occasional site visits for due-diligence documentation of as-built conditions, such as fence locations and corner lot requirements

Plot plan / Lot Fit drawings as needed for lot-specific considerations

Education, Skills, and Experiences=

College Degree in a related field strongly preferred or commensurate experience

Minimum of 5 years of Residential Architecture experience utilizing AutoCAD Architecture software

Strong organizational and relationship skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Highly attentive to details

Familiar with city-specific architectural / construction standards and relevant building codes and/or the ability to research for current information

Skillset and ability to think in a three-dimensional manner, specifically roof design

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Time management skills to work with multiple projects and complete deadlines

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred
