JOB SUMMARY
The Lead Accountant is responsible for working with the Accounting Manager in the processing of contribution and other income activities within TPCC, perform month end account reconciliations and postings, and assisting with the processing and reporting of payroll. This individual is responsible for contributing to the annual audit, participating in distribution of year end giving statements and special projects as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
DUTIES/PRIMARY JOB PRODUCTS
- Process weekly contributions, includingpostingonline and check/cash giftsin thecontributionsystem, preparing the bank deposits, runningcontributionreports,anddistributingthe weeklyoffering report.
- Process weekly deposit for non-offering receipts.
- Maintain contribution records intheChurch Management System (“CMS”)andaccounting software.
- Post registration deposits/refunds andSquaretransactions.
- Working knowledge of accounting software andthe CMS.
- Assistinpreparationofworkfor the annual audit.
- Ensurechurch financial transactions are processed and reported accurately & with integrity.
- Provide support, as needed, for donors using online giving applications.
- Full working knowledge of TPCC’s Chart of Accounts.
- Prepare letters, as needed, forcontributionsthroughoutyearandmanage distribution ofyear endgiving statements.
- In coordination with the Human Resources Team,assistintheprocessingand reporting of payroll.
- Complete month end reconciliations and postings.
- Perform other duties asrequired.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Experience inhigh levelaccounting.
- Experience with financial systems& tools, such as Microsoft Office.
- A heartforconfidentiality, accuracy, integrity, andaccuratereporting.
- Experience in documenting,implementing,and analyzing policies and procedures.
PREFERRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- C.P.A. or C.M.A certification
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’sDegree inBusiness,Accounting,orFinance.
- 5–6years experienceinBusiness,Accounting,orFinance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENTS
- Standing or sitting forlong periodsof time.
- Must be able to lift 25poundsas necessary.
