Position OverviewThe First Year Trademark Attorney at Trademarkia is a regular, full-time, exempt position based in our Tempe or Peoria, Arizona office. This is an entry-level attorney role ideal for newly licensed lawyers who want to build their careers in trademark law and intellectual property.

Essential Job FunctionsClient & Practice Management- Provide initial legal advice to retained clients on trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, dispute resolution, and IP enforcement.
- Support preparation, filing, and prosecution of U.S. and international trademark applications.
- Assist with TTAB (Trademark Trial and Appeal Board) actions and federal IP litigation.
- Communicate with clients through video consultations (Google Meet, Loom) and ensure clear, professional advisements.
- Ensure timely, accurate handling of trademark renewals, Statements of Use, and office action responses.
- Analyze clients’ businesses and provide proactive advice for ongoing IP protection.
- Supervise dedicated legal assistants to maximize productivity.
- Collaborate with attorneys, legal assistants, and office managers (AZ & CA) to ensure workflow efficiency.
- Contribute to building client relationships and achieving revenue goals through excellent service and follow-ups.
- Assist management in documenting processes, creating training flows, and contributing to the firm’s knowledge base.
- Work with TTAB and litigation attorneys on trademark disputes, oppositions, cancellations, and enforcement.
- Assist with federal litigation, including drafting motions, pleadings, discovery, depositions, hearings, and settlement negotiations.
- Prepare exhibits, affidavits, witness statements, and support trial preparation.
- Use modern legal technology including HubSpot CRM, Clio, Loom, Gmail integrations, and AI-based research tools.
- Participate in e-learning, CLEs, and ongoing professional training in trademarks, patents, copyright, and litigation.
- Train and mentor assistants in proactive client management to identify additional legal opportunities.
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school.
- Licensed attorney in Arizona (or another state with ability to waive in).
- Full-time, in-office availability (Tempe or Peoria, AZ).
- Exceptional writing, research, and communication skills.
- Strong client-relations skills with an emphasis on responsiveness, rapport, and ethical standards.
- $60,000/year starting salary with growth potential.
