Position Specifics
Continental Maritime of San Diego is currently seeking a Material Planning Coordinator to help support our operations. The Material Planning Coordinator reports to Material Control Supervisor and provides support to the material planning and control function. The position is responsible for receipt, inspection, and storage of all material in accordance with company and government policies and procedures.
Minimum requirements
· Must have basic warehouse skills a plus, which includes heavy lifting, rigging and movement of material using forklifts, pallet jack, and dollies, etc.
· Good writing and verbal communication.
· Must have a basic understanding of computer systems (i.e. Microsoft office)
· Self-motivated with a good work ethic
· US Citizenship is required
· Ability to be an authorized driver; one or no point on their DMV record.
· Ability to obtain DBIDS credentials is required.
· Ability to read and understand military specifications and drawings is a plus
Physical Requirements
- May be exposed to fumes, irritants, laser light, toxic chemicals, and potential electrical shock in an industrial or shipboard environment.
- May involve gathering data, observing rotating or opening machinery.
- Constantly works in an industrial or shipboard environment.
- Frequently moves throughout the yard.
- Must be able to maneuver, ascend, and descend stairs/ladders/ramps located inside various ships.
- Ability to move more than 40lbs.
- May be exposed to rapid changes in microclimates, industrial processes, and other environmental factors while collecting data, providing direction, and observing performance of task teams.
Pay range: 22.03 – 27.54/Hourly
