Energy Auditor Trainee

Pay: $22–$28 per hour

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday

Experience: None needed. We’ll train you.

Transportation: You need a reliable personal vehicle. We reimburse mileage.

We’re hiring a Building Analyst Assistant to work alongside our Building Analyst on home energy assessments. Every home we serve starts with an energy audit. We test how the house performs, find where it’s wasting energy, and decide which efficiency upgrades it qualifies for under utility energy efficiency programs. You’ll help gather the measurements and information behind those decisions.

This is a good way into the growing home performance and energy efficiency field. You’ll learn on the job from an experienced analyst.

What You’ll Do

 Help the Building Analyst run diagnostic tests on homes, such as blower door (air leakage) testing, combustion safety checks and infrared camera scans

 Inspect and measure attics, walls, crawlspaces and basements, and record insulation levels and conditions

 Write down information about furnaces, water heaters, windows, lighting and appliances

 Take photos and record data accurately for program paperwork

 Load, unload, set up and take down testing equipment

 Treat homeowners and their homes with respect, and explain what we’re doing during the visit

 Keep equipment clean and organized, and follow all safety procedures

What We’re Looking For

 A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle

 Able to lift 50 lbs and climb ladders

 Comfortable in attics, crawlspaces and basements

 Dependable and on time, with a good work ethic

 Pays attention to detail and records things accurately

 Friendly and professional with customers

 Willing to learn, follow directions and work on your own when needed

What We Offer

 $22–$28/hour, based on qualifications and experience

 Full-time, Monday–Friday

 Mileage reimbursement

 Paid on-the-job training in building science and energy auditing

 A path toward industry certification, such as BPI Building Analyst

 Varied work. You'll be visiting multiple homes each day

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
