Heavy Equipment Operator - Excavator

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator specializing in excavator, skid steer, and equipment operations.

You must be able to understand layout and work a laser to shoot elevation and mark grade levels.

In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery to perform excavation, grading, trenching, layout, and utility work on various construction sites.

Duties

• Operate excavators and other construction machinery with precision for excavation, grading, and utility installation tasks.
• Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety procedures.
• Assist with construction utility work, including utility locating, trenching, and backfilling activities.
• Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures at all times to maintain a safe work environment.
• Collaborate with team members to execute construction grading and site preparation efficiently.
• Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Support other heavy equipment operations such as loader operation, backhoe operation, and water truck driving when required.

Experience

• Proven experience operating excavators in a construction setting, demonstrating strong mechanical aptitude and safety awareness.
• Knowledge of construction machinery maintenance routines and troubleshooting techniques.
• Familiarity with construction site safety regulations, including federal standards for heavy equipment operation.
• Hands-on experience with utility locating and construction utility work is highly desirable.
• Prior experience in construction grading, excavation, and site preparation tasks is essential.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
