Overview:
The Tacker is responsible for tacking fabricated pipe in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and company quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform tack welding on fabricated pipe in accordance with approved procedures and project specifications
- Verify project number and base material prior to beginning work
- Identify, obtain, and sign out the correct filler materials based on job requirements
- Ensure all tacks meet or exceed minimum quality and qualification standards
- Assist with moving pipe spools to and from work areas following shop safety guidelines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Work collaboratively with all shop personnel and supervision to meet production schedules and quality expectations
- Comply with all Company Core Safety Rules, policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a fabrication or welding environment
- Working knowledge of welding processes, materials, and equipment related to pipe fabrication
- Ability to read and follow job instructions and welding procedures
- Ability to work extended hours, including 10-hour shifts and overtime as required
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods, as well as bending, kneeling, and squatting throughout the workday
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted
