We are seeking an experienced, creative, passionate residential designer/architect to join our design team. We hire top talent, which is why our customers choose us. Although Tracy’s Custom Home Designs has boundaries, we let you color outside the lines! Salary will be aligned with Experience in the residential design field.
We use Chief Architect as our design software. It is 3D object based software similar to Revit, but less cumbersome. It allows you to jump in and start putting your creative ideas into reality. Prior experience with Chief Architect is not required, and training will be provided.
At Tracy’s Custom Home Designs we help our customers’ visions come to life by providing unique floor plans with 3D renderings of the entire project. If you are tired of working at a place based on 2D linework (AutoCAD) and get frustrated with the work involved when a customer changes their mind, you may enjoy our design process and setup. Moving walls, doors and re-arranging bathrooms becomes easy and you get to use your creative side to apply materials and colors to the project to help sell the plan to the homeowner. EDUCATION
- Preferred Architecture, Construction Science/Engineering, Architectural Drafting
EXPERIENCE
- 4 years of Residential Architectural Design experience Required
- 7 years of Residential Architecture Design experience Preferred
- Generating Roofs for complex floor plans Preferred
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to Lead Designs from initial meetings to final construction dwgs
- Incorporate Design changes from Customers
- Work from a customer's design sheet to develop floor plans and elevations
- Be able to develop bathroom and kitchen arrangements, including cabinet and fixture locations to fit various size rooms
- Layout plans in a neat and efficient manner
- Drafting for final plans – Dimension floor plans and Elevations.
- Generate electrical dwgs (proper location of lights, outlets, switches)
- Manage multiple jobs/customers
- Comfortable generating 3D renderings with complimentary materials
REQUIREMENTS

- Ability to take criticism and direction from Homeowners/Customers
- Efficient - Quick Worker, uses Keyboard Shortcuts and self-motivated to find more efficient ways of doing similar tasks
- Understand Elevations, Material Usuage and Roof Design
- Understand basic home building principles. Standard appliance dimensions, door opening requirements, Kitchen Triangle, Ceiling Heights
- Be able to sketch general ideas for floor plan or cabinet elevations to quickly dictate ideas
