Tract Bio, located in The Pearl Innovation District in Charlotte, NC, is pioneering a new frontier in regenerative medicine, cancer and inflammatory research by developing targeted therapies for disease-causing stem cells. Our proprietary stemECHO platform enables the isolation and therapeutic targeting of previously undetected epigenetically unique disease-causing stem cells, unlocking novel treatments for inflammation, metaplasia, and cancer.
To advance our mission, we seek a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Scientist in Bioinformatics to join our multidisciplinary research team. The successful candidate will possess expertise in biology along with strong informatics skills to support ongoing laboratory projects focused on biomedical data analysis and experimental research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in biological data analysis, management of research projects, and implementation of computational workflows.
- Analyze large-scale genomic, proteomic, or experimental datasets utilizing bioinformatics tools and programming languages.
- Contribute to experimental design for ongoing and new research projects.
- Maintain accurate data records and contribute to the organization of research data inventory systems.
- Assist in the preparation and management of IRB protocols and other regulatory documents
- Contribute to manuscript and grant preparation and co-author scientific publications
- Other duties, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s or PhD degree in biology, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of research experience in an academic, clinical, or industry setting
- Experience with programming (Python, R, or similar).
- Familiarity with biological databases and data analysis platforms.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in next-generation sequencing data analysis, statistical modeling, or molecular biology techniques.
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux systems and cluster computing.
- Prior laboratory research experience is an asset.
