Job description
Marine Services Company seeking a Service Engineer to join our team. This position is suited for candidates who has experience with hands-on marine engineering and propulsion system experience. You will provide technical services and solutions to maritime and industrial customers. You will be able to work independently, under general supervision, to solve problems and provide technical solutions for rotating machinery in accordance with the customer’s service requirements. You perform duties in any or all of the following specialties: laser alignment, Cardan shaft alignment, vibration analysis, dynamic balancing, and optical alignment.
Job Responsibilities
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and propulsion issues onboard yachts and boats, often in space-restricted environments
- Performing preventative technical maintenance tasks
- Fabricating materials to effectively make repairs when the situation calls for it
- Thinking on your feet to solve problems in the field, sometimes with limited resources
- Working with teammates to accomplish customer and company goals
Requirements for this role include:
- A desire to work on and around boats, and the ocean in general
- Verifiable mechanical or electrical skills with demonstrable hands-on experience
- Strong communication skills and high integrity
- A desire to learn about new mechanical systems
- An operable vehicle and valid driver’s license
- Ability to move in and around small spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs when necessary
- Local and international travel required
