Program Description
Speed Stars by Track Stars Youth Programs combines track and field basics with indoor speed & agility training. An all levels recreational program that allows youth from 1st - 8th grade to train speed based fitness with fun games, drills, and practices. Since 2018, Track Stars has served over 600 youth in recreational running and track programs across Chester County. Founded by Division 1 Track & Field Athlete and Strength Coach Chloe Stanfield, a Downingtown native and Philadelphia resident. Programs focus on individual goals and growth based metrics. Youth athletes can expect to challenge themselves physically, create a growth mindset, find newfound confidence, and join a supportive community of track stars.
Role Description
- Coach a prescribed curriculum for youth to advance their speed and physical fitness skills.
- Be positive, communicate effectively, and work well with children.
- Position: Paid Youth Coach - 1099 Independent Contractor
- Program Dates: January 2026 - February 2026 (exact schedule will be determined per coach)
- Practices will be conducted Thursdays 6:00PM for 6th - 8th graders, and Mondays 5:00PM for 1st - 5th graders. Coaches will be expected to follow a schedule for their specific program.
- Commitment: Up to 16 practices and 2 track meets
- Location: Next Level Sports, Chester Springs
- Compensation: $15 per practice attended, $50 per track meet attended
- Requirements: Reliable transportation, 18 years old or older, experience in speed & agility or track and field, collegiate or varsity level preferred, experience with youth in a sports setting.
Speed Stars Coach Responsibilities
- Arrive 10-15 minutes early to start and set up equipment for practice
- Set up your practice space and review your curriculum before players arrive.
- Greet players and parents with a positive and exciting attitude.
- Always review your roster and take attendance of players present. It is important to make sure you have everyone’s contact information and registration.
- Learn your players' names and families! Meet their parents before and after practice.
- Conduct safe and effective play for sport development. Take up your full hour of play time and be smart with time. We recommend coaches wear a watch, not check their phone.
- After an hour of practice, congratulate players on their effort and ask for assistance in equipment clean up.
- Return equipment to its appropriate space and make sure all athletes are picked up from practice by their trusted adults.
Salary : $15 - $50
