JOB SUMMARY
TRAC Intermodal is seeking a Project Manager who combines strong ownership, exceptional relationship‑building skills, and a sharp focus on operational and financial outcomes. This role supports strategic initiatives that enhance TRAC’s chassis fleet quality, improve customer experience, modernize technology platforms, streamline operational processes, and strengthen partnerships across the intermodal supply chain.
You will work within Agile/Scrum delivery teams while translating progress into clear, milestone‑based reporting for senior leadership. Project Ownership & Leadership
- Serve as the accountable owner for TRAC’s project outcomes, ensuring alignment with key priorities such as chassis fleet reliability, equipment availability, operational efficiency, and customer service excellence.
- Maintain a deep understanding of project objectives and continuously guide teams toward delivering measurable value—not just completing tasks.
- Identify risks and dependencies across internal teams (Operations, Equipment Services, IT, Finance, Customer Support) and external partners (railroads, terminals, depots, and drayage providers).
Agile Delivery Tailored to TRAC’s Operations
- Lead Agile ceremonies and support cross‑functional teams working on initiatives such as chassis tracking enhancements, customer visibility tools, depot process improvements, billing modernization, and operational automation.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to refine backlogs that reflect TRAC’s operational priorities, customer commitments, and service-level expectations.
- Convert Agile sprint progress into executive‑ready waterfall‑style reporting, including milestone tracking, critical path updates, and operational impact summaries.
Stakeholder & Partner Communication
- Build strong, trust‑based relationships across TRAC’s business units and with external partners who influence equipment flows, terminal performance, and customer experience.
- Communicate complex operational and technical information in a clear, concise, and actionable way tailored to each audience—from depot managers to senior executives.
- Provide transparent reporting that connects project progress to TRAC’s KPIs, including fleet quality, turn‑time performance, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Process & Detail Management
- Develop and maintain project plans, RAID logs, dashboards, and documentation with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ensure consistent adherence to TRAC’s project governance processes while identifying opportunities to streamline workflows across operations and technology teams.
- Coordinate cross‑functional activities to ensure alignment, remove blockers, and maintain momentum in a dynamic intermodal environment.
Value, ROI, & Operational Impact
- Evaluate project decisions through the lens of operational efficiency, cost savings, chassis utilization, service reliability, and customer value.
- Partner with Finance and Operations leadership to ensure projects deliver measurable ROI—whether through reduced maintenance costs, improved fleet visibility, enhanced customer tools, or optimized depot operations.
- Use data and metrics to validate assumptions, measure progress, and support informed decision‑

- Ask probing questions to uncover operational risks, clarify requirements, and challenge assumptions—especially in areas involving equipment lifecycle, partner dependencies, or technology integrations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of project management experience, ideally within intermodal transportation, logistics, supply chain, or related operational environments.
- Experience leading Agile/Scrum teams and translating Agile delivery into milestone‑based reporting for senior leadership.
- Strong understanding of intermodal operations, chassis lifecycle management, depot processes, and partner relationships across rail, terminal, and drayage networks.
- Exceptional communication and relationship‑building skills across operational, technical, and executive teams.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate ROI, interpret operational data, and support strategic decision‑
- Demonstrated ability to manage details while keeping sight of broader operational and financial goals.
- PMP, CSM, or similar certifications are a plus.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment (3 days in-office)

Salary budget: $95,000 annual plus 20% incentive target
Compensation is determined by a variety of factors including candidate qualifications as well as the geographic location of the role and/or candidate.
