TRAC Associates is currently recruiting in the Seattle area for Peer Support Specialist trainees to take part in an apprenticeship. We are looking for candidates that have Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) lived experience including dependency, recovery, and experience with youth.

An apprenticeship offers paid, on-site-training so you can learn and earn a wage at the same time. Training is full-time and is for one year. Our March 2026 apprentice cohort has a few spots available! DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as a role model, demonstrating resiliency in overcoming obstacles common to those addressing their behavioral health challenges.
  • Shares personal lived experience, as appropriate.
  • Assists clients with: 1) identifying goals that promote recovery and resiliency, and 2) voicing interests and goals through appropriate channels.
  • Assists health practitioners to identify services and activities that help clients reach their goals.
  • Provides intake services and case management. May maintain regular contact with assigned individuals.
  • Leads and/or co-leads self-help support and education groups.
  • Works in conjunction with other agency programs, as part of the client’s overall treatment team.
  • Assists with agency coordination tasks, such as preparing for group sessions, greeting clients, organizing activities, maintaining order and cleaning up facility rooms at end of the day, and other tasks as needed.
  • Assists clients in their recovery by teaching independent living skills, such as shopping, budgeting, meal preparation, using public transportation, and establishing/maintaining community-based supports.
  • Performs outreach services in support of case management, supported housing, and supported employment programs.
  • As requested, provides coverage for other peer support specialists.
  • Assists with administrative tasks, which may include establishing and maintaining record-keeping and filing systems, maintaining notes and billing records, submitting daily activity reports, charting client contact in the electronic medical record, ordering and receiving supplies for client support services, and observing same-gender urine specimen collection, including completion of related paperwork.
  • Attends relevant meetings.
  • Attends professional development and training programs to enhance effectiveness.
  • May supervise volunteers/interns.
  • Operates office equipment such as computer, calculator, and copy/fax machines.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
