Description Public History & Digital Content Internship, Fall - Winter 2025 We believe no story should be left untold. Come learn at TPT with the award-winning Minnesota Experience team, the creators of Lost Twin Cities and Jim Crow of the North, in a unique internship experience at the intersection of public history, digital storytelling and marketing. This position works approximately 20 hours per week in a hybrid setting (both onsite and remote work). The qualified candidate will have a passion for elements of our work including media storytelling, narratives, diverse history, and research. Compelling candidates will also have a desire to work in areas such as marketing/communications, public history, or public media. Candidates must be currently enrolled in an educational program with a concentration on history, marketing, mass communications, digital storytelling, journalism, or other job-related fields. Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour Hybrid Work Environment: Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to the Twin Cities Metro area and report to onsite office three days per week. MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Assist in the conception and creation of social media and marketing content related to TPT's Minnesota Experience history documentaries Complete archival research, including video archives, personal collections, online assets, library archives and others as needed Assist with administrative tasks such as database entry, paperwork/digital filing, and general support On-the-job experience supporting our outreach, marketing, and community engagement needs Design and facilitate a presentation for funding partners outlining research work and accomplishments of the internship experience Potential field production experience including collecting releases during field interviews and media logging Participate in internal networking sessions with other TPT interns and staff to gain a broader perspective of Twin Cities PBS and our work QUALIFICATIONS Required: Enrolled in or recently completed a higher education program in media, marketing, journalism or public history or other related fields Prior experience with video editing, Adobe Premiere Pro CC is preferred Strong organizational skills and time management Interest in archival and content research Demonstrated ability to work with diverse communities Ability to work remotely with stable internet service and also onsite as required Proficient in Microsoft Office Able to successfully handle details with accuracy in a fast-paced, multi-client setting Access to reliable transportation to get to TPT offices in downtown St Paul as well as off-site work locations Preferred: Experience using social media for content creation, including vertical video (TikTok, Instagram, etc.) Experience and interest Library Sciences Experience working in historical archives Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
