Summary:

Develops, interprets, and implements complex financial and accounting concepts, or techniques for financial planning and control, by performing the following duties:

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Month end closing and responsibility for financial management of L/MPH location.  Includes gathering information, cutoff, booking journal entries, creation and review of financials, oversee daily/weekly accounting, etc. 

  • Work in BPCS ERP environment, reviewing existing practices and making recommendations for process improvements to maximize ERP utilization, and data visibility, includes queries and report development based on site needs.

  • L/MPH margins:  Review, perform analysis, and report out to management monthly.

  • Evaluates complex profit plans, operating records, and financial statements and identifies trends and recommends improvements accordingly.

  • Directs preparation of studies, reports, and analyses in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, governmental requirements, statistical reports, cash flow projections, and business forecasts.

  • Works with Local management team to analyze and Identify CAPEX needs and support development of the business plan for the upcoming fiscal year.

  • Interprets and applies corporate financial policies, and accounting theory.

  • Makes recommendations to management regarding continuous improvement opportunities and profitability improvement strategies.

  • Coordinates with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, new business planning, trended future requirements, and operating forecasts.

  • Assists organization's Corporate controller in the development of the budget, planning, and other corporate requirements.

  • Administers and reviews the Expense Management platform for all local cardholders.

  • Analyzes customer financials to determine creditworthiness, and suggested payment terms.

  • Other duties may include:  Monthly department expense review, bank borrowing base preparation, reporting for A/R insurance, sales tax, T&E expense report generation and maintenance, work with and provide information to Financial Auditors, bank reconciliation updates, consolidation of financials, costing, ad hoc reporting and analysis. 


Supervisory Responsibilities:  Manages a department of one and AR/AP Specialist.  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (BA) in Accounting from an accredited four-year college/university and two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  


Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.


Computer Skills: Manufacturing Software (BPCS/AS400) Accounting software and MS Office.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CPA/CMA desirable.
