Under the direction of the Electrical Engineering Manager, the Electrical Engineering Intern assists the electrical engineering team with designing, developing, and supervising all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery. Also responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC-based hardware and software. Performs the following duties:
- Designs electrical equipment utilizing AutoCAD Electrical, including facilities, components, products, and systems for industrial purposes.
- Develops applications of controls, instruments, and systems and prepares electrical schematics, panel layouts, PLC programming, operator interface designs, and upgrades/enhances controls on existing products.
- Works with the design team to learn workflow, drawing preparation, and BOM structure.
- Directs activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications, codes, standards and customer requirements.
- Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Makes engineering changes/improvements within the CAD environment and processes engineering change requests on time.
- Ensures customers are satisfied, consistent with expectations.
- Participates in design reviews with design team members and reads and interprets technical materials.
- Provides product support on the manufacturing floor.
- Employ both Digital/Software and Analog-based methods of debugging.
