Duties
- Assist with animal husbandry tasks including feeding, watering, grooming, and health monitoring of livestock such as chickens, goats, or other farm animals
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment using hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and basic mechanical knowledge
- Manage fencing, corrals, and pasture upkeep to ensure animal safety and pasture productivity
- Handle heavy lifting tasks involving feed bags, supplies, or equipment safely and efficiently
- Supervise or assist with other team members in daily tasks to ensure smooth workflow and safety compliance
- Optional : farmers market sales and prep for additional income.
Requirements
- Prior experience supervising or leading small teams is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn leadership skills is essential
- Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery repair and maintenance is highly desirable
- Hands-on experience with animal husbandry and animal handling techniques
- Ability to operate forklifts, heavy equipment, power tools, and irrigation systems safely
- Familiarity with goat, livestock guardian dog and chicken care or general farming practices is a plus
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to feed rations or equipment adjustments
- Knowledge of horticulture or greenhouse operations is advantageous
- Willingness to learn new skills such as welding or advanced equipment repair techniques
