Job Summary:
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician II / Mechanical Technician II to support the safe, reliable operation of natural gas transmission facilities. This is a hands-on field position responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment and station systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment and station systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot:
- Gas compression equipment
- Prime movers
- Air and air dryer systems
- Fuel systems
- Cooling systems
- Auxiliary station equipment
- Identify and report abnormal operating conditions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation.
- Follow SOPs, O&M manuals, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with operations, maintenance teams, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Support equipment operation, measurement, telecommunications, electrical controls, and other maintenance activities as required.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of directly related mechanical maintenance experience and/or training.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of safe work practices and safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic proficiency with computers and standard office software.
- Valid driver's license and ability to maintain driving privileges.
Preferred Experience:
- Pipeline, compressor station, or industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
- Gas transmission operations experience.
- Experience with rotating equipment and compressors.
- Experience with Caterpillar high-speed engines/compressors.
- Experience with cooling systems, fuel systems, and auxiliary equipment.
- Pipeline/energy regulatory compliance knowledge.
- Experience with troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily outdoor/field-based work.
- Work in varying weather and environmental conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Climbing ladders, kneeling, reaching, walking on uneven terrain, and working around industrial equipment.
- May require overtime, weekends, shift work, on-call/standby rotations, and overnight travel.
- Safety-critical and safety-sensitive position.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have 2 years of mechanical maintenance experience, strong hands-on troubleshooting skills, and experience working with compressors, rotating equipment, engines, cooling/fuel systems, or industrial/pipeline equipment. Pipeline or natural gas transmission experience is highly preferred.
