V Process Mold Melt & Pour
Mon Thurs 1:45 PM to 1:30 AM (45 hours per week).
Summary
Melt and pour various grades of aluminum alloy to meet established AS9100 quality standards and production requirements.

Primary Responsibilities
Maintain daily Melting routine
Follow supervisors or utility persons instructions and operation sheets as appropriate for all codes
Charge furnaces with correct metal (ingot & scrap, filter blocks)
Monitor temperature and level of metal in the furnace and make corrections when required
Run appropriate tests on metal and record results
Maintain melt department production log sheet
Follow established pouring practices
Establish and maintain required recordkeeping
Maintain Furnace and equipment
Keep areas and tools clean
Education Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Required Skills
Ability to work and communicate well with others
Ability to understand and carry out AS9100 work instructions for melting and pouring
High degree of physical strength, stamina, and dexterity
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
Physical Demands
This position requires constant standing for 8 12 hours per day in a hot and dusty environment. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. consistently.
Working Conditions
The employee is exposed to an environment where hearing protection, eye safety, safety shoes and other personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. During warm & humid weather, employee is exposed to higher heat risks due to ambient temperature along with generated heat from equipment.
