The EVS Custodian Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily Environmental Services operations within a medical facility, ensuring a safe, clean, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role provides leadership to custodial staff, coordinates cleaning schedules, ensures compliance with healthcare standards, and assists with hands-on cleaning tasks as needed.
Pay:$18.00 per hour
Shifts Available:
- Monday–Friday | 5:30 PM- 12:00 AM
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and support EVS custodians during daily cleaning operations.
- Train new and current staff on proper cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and infection-control standards.
- Monitor staff performance and provide coaching, feedback, and corrective actions when necessary.
- Create and adjust staff schedules to meet facility needs.
- Ensure completion of all assigned cleaning tasks and special projects.
- Assist with cleaning tasks, including patient rooms, exam rooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, clinical areas, and high-touch surfaces.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of waste, including biohazard and regulated medical waste.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness standards and safety guidelines are met.
- Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure supplies are stocked and properly used.
Requirements:
- Previous supervisory experience in healthcare cleaning, Environmental Services (EVS), or custodial work required.
- Minimum 1–2 years of supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
- Knowledge of infection control standards, medical facility cleaning protocols, and proper use of cleaning chemicals/equipment.
- Ability to lead a team, communicate clearly, and interact professionally with staff and medical personnel.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull cleaning equipment and materials as needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must pass required background checks.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
