HR Specialist

TPG HR Services USA is a national HR service provider. We're hiring an HR Specialist to serve as the day-to-day HR and payroll partner for a portfolio of client organizations — the person their managers and employees call when they need an answer.

Why This Role

This isn't a narrow seat. You'll own the full employee lifecycle for your accounts, assist with payroll data , keep clients compliant, and build the kind of consultative client relationships that turn into long-term partnerships. You'll report directly to company leadership and work across multiple industries and employee populations — range that's hard to get anywhere but an outsourced HR environment. The schedule is hybrid — three days a week in our Highland Park office and two days remote — with occasional onsite time at local client offices when an account calls for it.

What You'll Do

HR administration

• Act as the primary HR contact for your assigned client accounts, advising on policy, procedure, and best practice
• Administer the employee lifecycle end to end: onboarding, status changes, leaves of absence, benefits support, and offboarding
• Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data
• Support performance reviews, corrective action, and employee development
• Prepare HR reports, metrics, and workforce analytics for clients and internal leadership
• Field employee and manager questions on policy, payroll, and workplace concerns

Payroll

• Collect payroll data for client organizations with accuracy and discretion
• Review timesheets, earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefit changes before each run
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
• Handle adjustments, garnishments, direct deposits, and special processing

Compliance

• Keep clients compliant with federal, state, and local employment law, wage and hour rules, and leave regulations
• Support unemployment claims, employment verifications, audits, and compliance reporting
• Help implement and administer legally sound HR policies

Client service

• Manage multiple accounts to service-level expectations and deadlines
• Participate in client meetings and presentations
• Track client service hours and activity for accurate billing and transparency

What You Bring

• Degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred
• SHRM certification is a plus
• Progressive HR experience
• Experience supporting multiple clients, locations, or employee populations — ASO, outsourced HR, consulting, or professional services background preferred
• Working knowledge of federal and state employment law, wage and hour rules, and payroll compliance
• Proficiency Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Strong analytical and problem-solving instincts, and the judgment to handle confidential matters with discretion
• The ability to juggle competing client demands without dropping anything
• Willingness and ability to work onsite at local client offices as needed
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
