The Kitchen Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting food according to the restaurant’s recipes, quality standards, and food safety regulations. This position plays a key role in supporting daily kitchen operations and ensuring that all dishes are prepared consistently, efficiently, and to the highest culinary standards.
The Kitchen Cook prepares ingredients, including washing, cutting, marinating, and portioning food items. The cook follows established recipes and plating guidelines while maintaining consistency and quality in all dishes served to guests. This role requires attention to detail, proper time management, and the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
The Kitchen Cook is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of their workstation, ensuring proper storage of food items, and following all health, sanitation, and safety standards. This includes proper temperature control, labeling, rotation of products (FIFO), and maintaining compliance with local health regulations.
The position requires collaboration with the culinary team, including chefs, supervisors, and other kitchen staff, to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service. The Kitchen Cook may also assist with receiving deliveries, checking inventory, and communicating when supplies need to be replenished.
