- Identify and develop new business opportunities through targeted outreach, industry networking, and strategic partnerships.
- Consult with clients to understand project needs, operational challenges, and long-term facility goals.
- Develop custom HVAC solutions based on site conditions, budget constraints and system requirements.
- Prepare detailed proposals including scope, pricing, and timelines in coordination with estimating and engineering teams.
- Present and sell solutions to clients including general contractors, developers, engineers, and building owners.
- Negotiate contracts and maintain responsibility for project sales through closing.
- Collaborate with internal teams (project management, estimating, service) to ensure alignment and successful execution.
- Consult with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support.
- Assess customers’ needs and sell creative solutions that set TPMC apart from our competition.
- Ability to assist with RFPs and RFQs.
- Report weekly updates on projects and future opportunities.
- Responsible for establishing relationships with new and existing clients
- Develop a plan to go to market. Work closely with the estimation team on larger projects to get HVAC and or plumbing piping/ ductwork estimates for PVF and ductwork material and labor. Present presentations and work through the contract process.
- Present options for financing to clients.
- Keep an open relationship with all our equipment vendors and do not handcuff us to one vendor.
- Work with accounting team for payment terms and conditions and client needs.
- Work with purchasing team during the buyout process to ensure they are buying the correct equipment.
- Work closely with the project management team and field any issues that may arise and be the liaison between the execution team and the client.
- Learn how to use our estimation software to strip off PVF on projects when needed.
- Review estimates as needed with managers for completeness.
- Sit in JCRs to review projects
- Stay current on industry trends, codes, and new HVAC technologies
- Make time to attend client functions either after hours or weekends as needed.
- Develop strong client relationships and maintain them.
- All other duties as assigned
- Experience/Qualifications Requirements:
- At least ten years of related business experience in HVAC or related technical sales
- Excellent problem solving, customer service and communication/interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft software products and general computer skills.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of Service staff
- Must have a good technical understanding of commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales or similar program preferred or 10 years of experience in the HVAC or refrigeration field
- Employee is frequently required to sit.
- Employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Capable of climbing off/on equipment and ladders.
- Able to walk construction job sites.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record in accordance with company vehicle policy.
- OSHA 10.
