Job Overview
We are seeking an Entry Level Suspension Technician to join our automotive service team. Prior dealership experience or mechanic background is a plus but not required, as training will be provided. This position involves working with various vehicle systems, including powertrain, electrical, and alignment components, to ensure optimal vehicle performance and safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist in diagnosing suspension issues using schematics and automotive diagnostics tools
- Perform repairs and replacements on suspension components such as shocks, struts, control arms, and bushings
- Use hand tools and power tools to disassemble and reassemble suspension parts accurately
- Conduct wheel alignments to manufacturer specifications
- Support in vehicle maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
- Assist with automotive electrical system troubleshooting related to suspension sensors or ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems)
- Follow safety protocols during all repair procedures and maintain a clean work environment
- Collaborate with senior technicians on complex repairs involving diesel engines, powertrain components, or auto body work
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to assist in repairs and diagnostics
Requirements
- Basic mechanical knowledge with an interest in automotive repair and maintenance
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and automotive diagnostic equipment preferred
- Experience or familiarity with dealership environments is a plus but not mandatory
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, ADAS technology, and schematics is advantageous
- Ability to work safely around vehicle systems including electrical components and welding equipment
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and maintenance needs
- Willingness to learn new skills related to suspension systems, alignment procedures, and vehicle diagnostics
- Prior experience with GM vehicles or auto body repair is beneficial but not required
- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment within a fast-paced setting
