TOYOTETSU NORTH AMERICA
Somerset, KY Full Time
POSTED ON 8/23/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/22/2026

Position: TTNA EHS Compliance & Risk Management Specialist

Position Summary: The TTNA EHS Compliance & Risk Management Specialist serves as a corporate resource for compliance assurance and risk visibility across all TTNA facilities. This role does not replace plant-level EHS ownership or daily site activities; rather, it provides oversight, verification, reporting, and follow-up to help ensure compliance obligations and corrective actions are tracked and addressed.  This position reports to the TTNA Corporate Sustainability, External and Government Affairs Senior Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve a North America-wide EHS compliance tracking process, including regulatory obligations, permits, reports, inspections, renewals, documentation, owners, due dates, and completion status.

  • Monitor overdue or at-risk compliance items and escalate unresolved issues to appropriate leadership.

  • Support policy governance by reviewing adherence to standardized TTNA EHS-related policies, procedures, risk controls, and response playbooks.

  • Identify compliance gaps, policy inconsistencies, recurring issues, and systemic risks; coordinate corrective action follow-up with responsible plant leaders.

  • Monitor applicable EHS regulatory changes and support facilities during inspections, agency visits, audits, and compliance reviews.

  • Partner with External Affairs to track customer environmental sustainability requirements, audits, surveys, data requests, and reporting expectations.

  • Serve as a corporate liaison to the TTNA EHS Working Group to promote consistent standards, best practices, compliance tools, and lessons learned across facilities.

  • Prepare executive-level dashboards, reports, and updates summarizing compliance status, overdue actions, high-risk items, trends, and recommended next steps.

Qualifications:

Position Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.

Experience

  • Minimum of seven years of experience in EHS, environmental compliance, regulatory compliance, audit, risk management, or a related field preferred.

  • Manufacturing or industrial environment experience preferred.

  • Experience coordinating multi-site compliance programs preferred.

  • Experience supporting regulatory inspections, audits, customer reporting, or sustainability data requests preferred.

Demonstrated Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of EHS compliance requirements, including safety, environmental permitting, reporting, waste management, and recordkeeping.

  • Ability to build and maintain compliance matrices, dashboards, tracking tools, and reporting processes.

  • Strong organization, follow-up, documentation, and deadline management skills.

  • Ability to influence accountability and support consistency across locations without direct plant-line authority.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex compliance matters for leadership review.

  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, confidentiality, and professional ethics.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with compliance management systems or audit tools preferred.
