TRD is looking for a highly motivated Driver-In-Loop Simulator Technician (Contract) for our Vehicle Simulation Department.
This position will be in Salisbury, NC.
As a Driver-In-Loop simulator technician, you will be a key member of TRD's state of the art DIL simulator team which has been serving our customers and race teams for several years with tremendous success. This position will be responsible for providing world class customer-oriented operation of DIL simulator, conducting comprehensive simulations, and performing systems troubleshooting and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and collaborate with race teams during simulator sessions
- Rapid troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Routinely inspect data to ensure highest quality and accuracy
- Assist in systems engineering testing
- Assist in hardware and software integration into DIL simulators
- Continuously improve immersion and realism of driving experience
- Proactively improve operational workflow to maximize efficiency
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with our customers and race teams with timely and professional interactions
A successful candidate will have:
- High school, associate degree or higher
- Experience in customer-oriented environment
- Technically minded with experience operating complex electro-mechanical systems
- Proficiency in the use of various test equipment and tools
- Practical knowledge of IT components
- Proficiency in using different software applications and ability to learn complex workflow
- Ability to collaborate with other engineering disciplines
- Exhibit curiosity to learn and to continuously improve
- Exhibit strong analytical, problem-solving, and hands-on mindset
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
- Comfortable in fast pace working environment
- Experience working in racing or automotive industry.
A successful candidate may have:
- Motorsport trackside experience
- DIL simulator experience
- Some experience with data logging software applications such as MoTec and ATLAS
- Some experience with virtual / graphical software such as rFpro
- General understanding of vehicle dynamics
