Toyota of Lompoc is actively seeking candidates for an Entry level Lube Technician

Job Summary
The Technician performs basic maintenance and light repairs on customer vehicles. Primary goals are safe, efficient performance of all maintenance and repair tasks as defined in dealership processes and policies.
Reports to
The Technician reports to the Service Advisors (ASM) and the Service Manager.
Duties
- Performs basic maintenance and light repairs on customer vehicles
- The emphasis and goal is to graduate to a higher level of certification up to and including Master Diagnostic Technician
- Conducts multipoint inspections of customer vehicles to identify needed maintenance services and repairs
- Follows all required safety and hazardous materials procedures as required by dealership policies and applicable laws and regulations
- Uses and maintains dealership-provided tools and equipment in proper operating condition
- Documents inspection findings and maintenance requirements clearly and accurately and communicates them to the ASM
- Communicates proactively with other associates to ensure a smooth, safe flow of work through the shop
- Quality-checks own work and the work of other Technicians as requested
Skills & Knowledge
- Basic knowledge of automotive technology and related tools/equipment
- Strong customer service focus
- Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking ability
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- ASE certifications a plus, not required but will be expected to obtain during employment
- Some automotive technology courses preferred
Experience
Prior automotive maintenance experience preferred.
