The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Accountant to join our Raymond Leasing team. In this role, you will support the development of the financial reporting package and month-end close functions while contributing to the daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and reporting requirements for the Corporate Finance group. You will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting governance and control processes, and ensuring reporting integrity. This position offers hands-on exposure to core accounting functions and opportunities to contribute to process improvements and system enhancements.

The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Accountant to join our Raymond Leasing team. In this role, you will support the development of the financial reporting package and month-end close functions while contributing to the daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and reporting requirements for the Corporate Finance group. You will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting governance and control processes, and ensuring reporting integrity. This position offers hands-on exposure to core accounting functions and opportunities to contribute to process improvements and system enhancements.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform routine day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounting entries.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes.
- Prepare account reconciliations and ensure balances are accurate and clearly understood.
- Prepare journal entries and supporting analyses.
- Develop and maintain accounting desk guides to support process documentation and cross-training.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve routine reporting or reconciliation issues.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests.
- Support Corporate Finance in maintaining proper governance and internal controls.
- Perform analytical tasks and special projects as assigned.
- Support system modification projects, including upgrades, enhancements, and error corrections.
- 5 years of Accounting experience and U.S. GAAP knowledge
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Expert skills with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and complex formulas
- Advanced working knowledge of SAP or a similar enterprise resource planning system
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to perform technical accounting research as assigned
- Ability to prepare accounting desk guides to support cross-training and documentation
- CPA licensure
- IFRS experience
- Experience documenting process and procedures, standard accounting policies, cross-training, automating redundant tasks, and performing process improvements.
- Experience supporting international reporting requirements
- Demonstrated experience leading audit engagements
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization
- This is a hybrid role located at our Greene, New York office— In office Monday through Wednesday and remote Thursday/Friday.
- Standard business hours apply, with flexibility based on business needs.
