What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Manager - Chattanooga/ Dalton position at Toyota Material Handling of Tennessee, Inc.?
The Service Manager position provides technical support and development for all technicians in their region, provides complex job support, and provides training. The Service Manager leads Field Service Technician Teams, while coordinating closely with the Customer Support team and the Service Operations staff. The position reports to the Regional Operations Manager and routinely interacts with customers both internal and external.
Responsibilities:
. Manages a group of technicians that are signed to a service region; including, but not limited to technician / coordinator mentorship, efficient scheduling, work order and WIP management, customer satisfaction, and invoicing.
. Assists in the establishment and maintenance of a safety-oriented culture; responsible for ensuring all technical safety training is properly coordinated and executed per company policies and standards. Ensures technicians have, use, and maintain their PPE.
. Manages work orders for the region – ensuring accuracy, timely repairs, and timely submission.
. Responsible for all Technical training, development, and mentorship of technicians in the region.
. Works with Toyota Certified Trainer, Environmental Health and Safety Manager, and Training/HR Department to develop and provide technical training for technician workforce on all matters relating to Forklift and Material Handling Equipment service and maintenance for the development and advancement of the technician workforce.
. Manages service center library containing Technical Software, Service Bulletins, Technical Reference Documents & SOP procedures.
. Provide superior technical expertise on complex jobs both via telephone and in person when required.
. Assist in identifying training deficiencies and offer suggested training paths.
. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education and experience:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
. Have a minimum of 10 years of experience or equivalent in the material handling industry or a similar industry
. Have a minimum of 5 years of management experience in the material handling industry or a similar industry.
. Lead the team by demonstrating the company's Core Values daily.
. Have strong interpersonal skills to support and grow the team personally and professionally.
Skills and abilities:
Language Skills:
. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, training curriculum and procedure manuals.
. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Computer Skills:
. Basic knowledge of MS office applications and ability to utilize these tools in the day-to-day business environment
. Knowledge of software applications used in troubleshooting and repair of material handling equipment
