We're seeking a passionate and dedicated Custodian who brings enthusiasm, energy, and expertise to the table. You'll be helping to keep our building clean and well-maintained while working alongside a dynamic, diverse team committed to achieving shared goals. What You'll Be Doing:
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms
- Clean building floors and walls
- Gather and empty trash
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
- Notify supervisor concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks
- Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours or checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created
- Make adjustments or minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, or electrical systems
- Performs other related duties as assigned
What We're Looking For:
- Knowledge of general building maintenance and cleaning processes
- Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret simple documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures
- Ability to keep logs and records, create simple correspondence, and comprehend simple instructions
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Incumbent works under close supervision, receives detailed work instructions, applies basic judgment in resolving routine issues
- Troubleshoots basic problems, identifies deviations from accepted practices

Where and When You'll Work:
- This is an in-person role, located at our East Chicago, IN facility, which is ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.
- Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with occasional overtime

Wage - $18.35 per hour
