This internship is a hands‑on robotics engineering role focused on mobile robots, industrial automation, sensors, safety hardware, and rapid prototyping. We are looking for students who have built robots before, especially through FIRST Robotics (FRC/FTC) or similar robotics teams, and who are pursuing mechatronics, robotics, or electromechanical engineering pathways. You will work alongside experienced engineers completing bench‑top testing and robot subsystem prototypes that influence future product decisions.

Job Functions
- Prototyping sensors, cameras, and safety devices on robotics test benches
- Wiring and testing E‑stops, safety relays, pendants, and controllers
- Evaluating industrial components (wireless devices, IO modules)
- Supporting robot simulation experiments
- All projects will require documenting findings to support engineering decisions
- 10% overnight travel (Travel expenses paid by Toyota Automated Logistics)
- Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
- In pursuit of a Bachelors of Engineering degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Computer Science
- Robotics Experience
- Participation in FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), FTC, VEX, or similar
- Experience building robots: wiring, sensors, motors, controllers, or mechanisms
- Comfort using tools, multimeters, and debugging physical systems
- Basic electronics and wiring
- Troubleshooting sensors and actuators
- Prototyping and testing ideas quickly
- CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Etc.)
- Entry‑level programming (Python, C/C , Arduino, PLCs, or similar)
- Comfortable learning new hardware quickly
- Employees must follow all information security policies, protect confidential data, complete required training, and report any suspected security incidents to support our information security controls.
