Project Manager

Description

U.S. Citizenship Required. Ability to qualify for a US Department of Defense security clearance required.

This is an on-site position located in Goleta, CA.

Toyon Research Corporation is seeking a talented Project Manager to support several complex technology development projects. The Project Manager will foster and maintain effective working relationships to coordinate execution of project requirements among multiple groups and resource providers including engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and subcontracts.

Responsibilities

• Organization and oversight of project finances, schedule, and staffing (with guidance and support from team leadership)
• Tracking of technical progress and project risks
• Management of subcontractors and vendors
• Assist in compilation of technical and financial proposals
• Synthesis of technical and programmatic perspectives on project execution into a coherent narrative for presentation to team and corporate leadership and to our customers
  
  

The ideal candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm for technology, a mindset for process and organization, and a willingness to learn. The Project Manager will apply creativity, foresight, and judgement in collaboratively solving complex technical and management problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and/or advanced degrees in engineering, computer science, or a physical science preferred; non-technical degrees considered with demonstrated success in project management.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel and Project)
• Strong written and verbal interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Exceptional problem-solving skills
• Project Management certification (e.g. CAPM, PMP), with skills in KPI development and tracking, legal/contracts experience, and negotiation are considered valuable assets for this role.

The annual pay range for the Project Manager position is $100,000 to $150,000.

The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on annual base compensation for the position, at a full time level of effort, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives. Toyon Research Corporation will consider the individual candidate’s education, work experience, applicable knowledge, skills and training, among other factors, when preparing an offer of employment.
