Duties
- Safely operate bucket trucks, bucket lifts, and other equipment to access high branches and difficult-to-reach areas for trimming and removal.
- Perform tree trimming, pruning, and removal activities with precision to promote healthy growth and prevent interference with utility lines.
- Use rigging techniques to safely lower large branches or debris from elevated work areas.
- Conduct landscape maintenance tasks such as lawn care, shrub trimming, and general land clearing to support overall site appearance and safety.
- Assist with GIS (Geographic Information System) data collection by mapping tree locations and documenting work performed for accurate record-keeping.
- Follow all safety protocols related to tree care, equipment operation, and working at heights to ensure a secure work environment.
- Support land management efforts by growing experience in horticulture, tree care practices, and landscaping techniques that enhance the health of urban forests.
Skills
- Demonstrated experience in tree care, tree trimming, or landscaping with a focus on growing skills in horticulture.
- Proficiency in rigging techniques for safe removal of branches or trees.
- Ability to operate bucket trucks, bucket lifts, and other aerial equipment safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with GIS technology for mapping and documenting work sites is a plus.
- Knowledge of lawn care, landscape maintenance, and general land clearing practices.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to working at heights and operating heavy machinery.
- Growing experience or background in horticulture or arboriculture is highly desirable.
