What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Nursing Assistant position at Towner County Medical Center?
Full-time or Part-time
- Must hold current Nursing Assistant Certification in ND or be eligible to obtain certification within 4 months of employment.
- 16 years of age or older
- Must be willing to work a variety of shifts as needed including weekends and holidays
- CPR certification within 3 months of employment
Duties
- Provide quality nursing care to residents in an environment which promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and their individuality.
- Attend to the individual needs of residents which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communicating, or other needs in keeping with the individuals’ care requirements.
- Maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of each resident in the delivery of services.
- Interact with residents in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a caring environment.
- Observe residents for changes in condition or behavior and promptly report these changes to appropriate licensed nursing personnel.
- Answer residents’ call bells promptly and courteously.
- Perform various tasks assigned by the charge nursing including vital signs, residents’ weights, applying creams/ointments, collecting specimens, etc.
- Lift, move, and transport residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention.
- Communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers, supervisors.
- Assist and escort residents to appointments such as beauty shop, activities, and church services.
- Support an atmosphere that promotes a homelike environment.
- Work with patients/residents who are cognitively or behaviorally impaired.
The CNA is responsible for the wellbeing and dignity of residents in their care. Duties include daily tasks to ensure that residents are comfortable, clean, and safe. The CNA is under the supervision of the charge nurse in performing direct resident cares.
Salary : $19 - $25
