What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laundry Attendant/House Person position at Towneplace Suites by Marriott?
TownPlace is seeking a dynamic part-time Laundry Attendant/ House Person for their hotel. Compensation is based on experience. Company benefits include 401k, employee discounts, and much more. The purpose of the Laundry Attendant/House Person is to assure the overall success of the hotel by meeting or exceeding the guest expectation for product cleanliness. The Laundry Attendant/House Person must ensure guest satisfaction through room cleanliness and attention to our public spaces.
Essential Job Functions
- Sorts, washes, dries, and folds all linen and terry. Pulls out of circulation stained and damaged linen and terry and sets aside for mending or extra cleaning.
- Keeps all equipment clean and reports maintenance problems to supervisor.
- Keeps laundry room and linen/terry storerooms stocked, clean and orderly.
- Keeps all laundry and cleaning supplies stocked and stored properly.
- Assists housekeepers in stripping rooms of linen and terry and helps with stocking of housekeeping carts.
- Acquires working knowledge of the property and all facilities to respond to guest questions effectively.
- Understands and applies all hotel safety and security procedures as required to maintain a secure and safe environment for all associates and guests.
- Keeps immediate superior promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken.
- Responsible for stocking room attendant carts with adequate supplies to complete assigned rooms and maintain an efficient cleaning cart.
- Maintain equipment such as vacuum and cleaning equipment. Empty vacuum cleaner bag as necessary.
- Notify supervisor when shortage of supplies is noticed.
- Remove trash and dirty linens from room attendant’s carts.
- Insure that hotel public areas are within the standards of AURO Hotels and the Brand.
- Clean furniture, elevators, glass, planters, etc. in public areas such as lobby, pool, and public restrooms. Sweep and vacuum floors, hallways, and stairwells.
- Report maintenance problems and complete work repair orders.
- Spot clean walls, carpets, light fixtures, and room attendant carts at the end of the day.
- Turn in articles left in rooms to management for "Lost and Found" following hotel procedures.
- Responsible for replenishing supply storerooms in the hotel; Rotate linens in storerooms.
- Maintain shelf organization in the storerooms.

Experience/Education
1-2 years experience as a Guest Room Attendant with an established hotel brand, preferably Hilton. High School Diploma Preferred.
