The Mortgage Processor Assistant is responsible for assisting the Mortgage Processor and sales team in processing Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and all applicable housing agency loan files.

The Mortgage Processor Assistant is responsible for assisting the Mortgage Processor and sales team in processing Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and all applicable housing agency loan files.
Essential Responsibilities
- Working with the Mortgage Loan Processor and sales team to provide any necessary support with his/her loan pipeline.
- Obtaining and verifying all data and supporting documentation within the loan origination system regarding a borrower’s income, assets, liabilities and credit/collateral information.
- Communicating with borrowers via email and phone as needed and following through with obtaining any missing information supporting the borrower’s application.
- Ensuring communication that is well coordinated, timely and professional between internal and external customers.
- Submitting loans through necessary Automated Underwriting Systems (including DU, LP & GUS) and obtains underwriting findings.
- Maintaining organized documentation of all correspondence throughout the loan process across all platforms.
- Monitoring the file flow from loan set up through closing to ensure all conditions are met and file is closed on time.
- Reviewing and managing loans for accuracy and quality.
- Collecting and recording accurate information in the appropriate fields of Encompass.
- Complying with Banks’ Policies and Procedures, as well as regulatory compliance guidelines.
- Keeping abreast of industry regulations and changes.
- Obeys all applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations relating to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
- Has a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Has excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills
- Has excellent computer skills
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment typical to Mortgage Banking
- Prior financial background or Mortgage Banking experience
- Experience with loan origination software
- Experience with automated underwriting systems
- Express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word via email and verbally
- Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, use your arms and legs, and sit most of the time
- Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and preparing documentation
- Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
