Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Lead Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, kitchen operations, and culinary techniques, with a focus on delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment. This role requires leadership skills to oversee line operations, ensure food safety standards, and maintain exceptional service quality. Previous experience on all stations is highly preferred. The Lead Line Cook will play a vital role in menu execution, team coordination, and maintaining the highest standards of food handling and presentation.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
- Oversee daily kitchen operations during shifts, ensuring smooth workflow
- Supervise and assist line cooks and kitchen staff to maintain efficiency and quality
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation protocols are strictly followed
- Assist with menu planning and develop new dish ideas in collaboration with the culinary team
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs for the line
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and storage areas
- Train new staff on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards
- Handle food allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests with care and precision
- Support catering events or special functions as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food industry roles such as dietary aide, food preparation, or restaurant cooking
- Strong culinary skills including knife skills, meal preparation, and food handling expertise
- Experience in fine dining or catering environments is preferred
- Knowledge of menu planning, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards
- Excellent leadership abilities with the capacity to supervise a team effectively
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Prior experience with dietary department procedures or dietary aide roles is a plus
