Towne Machine Tool is seeking a skilled Welder / Fabricator to join our team. This position requires an individual capable of independently reading mechanical drawings, fitting components, determining fabrication methods, and producing high-quality finished assemblies from customer prints and specifications.
This is not a production welding position. Applicants should be comfortable working from prints, fitting components, determining fabrication methods, and producing complete assemblies with minimal supervision.
Work includes custom fabrication, repair, rebuild, and manufacturing of industrial components and assemblies. Materials regularly include carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and nickel-based alloys such as Inconel, Alloy 330, and Hastelloy.
Primary Responsibilities
- MIG and TIG weld carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and nickel-based alloys.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, weld symbols, and fabrication prints.
- Layout, form, fit, and fabricate assemblies from customer drawings and specifications.
- Prepare material for fabrication including cutting, grinding, beveling, and weld joint preparation.
- Determine fabrication methods, welding sequence, and assembly processes.
- Maintain dimensional accuracy and control distortion during fabrication and welding.
- Operate fabrication equipment including press brakes, shears, band saws, drill presses, grinders, and related shop equipment.
- Form and fabricate sheet metal components from customer drawings and specifications.
- Perform flame hardening and carbide brazing operations as required.
- Perform grinding, finishing, and post-weld cleanup as required.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
Compensation based on demonstrated skill, experience and qualifications.
Typical work schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm
Overtime opportunities available based on workload and customer demands.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Experience:
- TIG welding: 1 year (Preferred)
- MIG welding: 1 year (Preferred)
