Position Summary:
This temporary summer position is scheduled to begin June 29, 2026 and will run through the end of the workday on August 7, 2026. It offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience while supporting a fast-paced and collaborative office environment during one of our busiest seasons.
The Office of the Tax Collector plays an important role in collecting and processing tax payments for taxable town property. In this role, you will provide friendly customer service at the front counter, assist members of the public with tax payments, and help ensure transactions are processed accurately. Responsibilities also include performing computer searches using various systems to locate and verify tax account information.
We are looking for dependable and motivated individuals who are eager to contribute, learn, and support the team during this busy and rewarding summer assignment.
The scheduled work hours are:
Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday: 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Due to the significant increase in office activity during this period, team members are expected to be fully available throughout the duration of the assignment, and we are unable to accommodate scheduled time off between June 29 and August 7, 2026.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. One year of cash handling along with customer service. Cash handling skills must include the ability to count back change to customers. Strong face-to-face customer service skills.
