What are the responsibilities and job description for the Highway Maintenance Craftspersons I and II position at Town of Westborough (Massachusetts)?
The Town of Westborough Department of Public Works seeks applications from experienced, team-oriented individuals for the full-time position of Highway Maintenance Craftsperson I and Highway Maintenance Craftsperson II. These positions are primarily focused on general maintenance and repair of town roadways and associated right of way. Essential functions of the position include road patching, drainage infrastructure cleaning and repair, vegetation removal, excavation and pipe installation, road sweeping, and line painting. Additionally, the position requires availability for on-call duties during inclement weather events and other emergencies including snow and tree removal.
Applicants shall possess a high school diploma or general education degree and five to seven years of experience in public works and/or construction and maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Massachusetts CDL Class B or greater and Massachusetts Hoisting License for Backhoe/Front End Loader desired for Maintenance Craftsperson II. Must obtain Catch Basin Cleaner / Specialty Mower license within one year of hire.
