GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Under the supervision of the Director of Finance, the Grant Financial and Administrative Project Manager serves as a liaison with federal and state agencies for the administration of grant funds. This role ensures successful grant compliance, completion of financial and administrative grant filings including mandatory reporting, grant contracting, close out and final audit of grant programs.ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES:

  1. Support grant application submission process for town departments in coordination with the ECD Director.
  2. Facilitate assistance agreements for awarded grant projects
  3. Facilitate all grants financial report under the supervision of the Finance Director/Deputy Finance Director
  4. Facilitate grant extensions and close outs as appropriate.
  5. Prepare information and oversee grant audits
  6. Participate in project team meetings
  7. Prepare grant reports on project progress and grant financial reports
  8. Keep and retain master grant files.
  9. Attend grant webinars and training for various funding sources to stay informed on grant regulations. 
  10. Design, construct and maintain databases.
  11. Assist in data collection for grant reporting and management.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:  Acts under the supervision of the Director of Finance or his/her Designee. 

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: NoneMINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or a related field.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of three (3) years progressively responsible experience in grant management including experience with State, Federal and private grant contracting and reporting. 
  • Understanding of basic grant accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. 
  • Munis experience a plus.

  • Knowledge of intergovernmental relations and grant structures.
  • Strong verbal and communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work underpressure.
  • Capability to facilitate meetings and deliver publicpresentations.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to various electronic grant and financial systems.
  • Exceptional organizational and follow up skills.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple project’s deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and project teams.
  • Attention to detail and strong record keeping skills.

The weight of the examination will be 100% experience and training . The candidates will be ranked based on their experience and training as it relates to the required experience and training for this position based on the information contained in their employment application, the supplemental questionnaire if applicable and any attachments they provide.   This examination will be conducted for the Town of Trumbull by the Trumbull Civil Service Board within the authority of Section 7-413 of the 1959 revision of the State of CT General Statutes.  Please notify the Civil Service office in advance of the examination of any disability which may require special accommodation.  Anyone claiming Veterans' Preference must bring original DD 214 document.
