What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parks and Recreation Maintenance Worker I position at Town of Timnath?
This position performs duties as a General Maintenance Worker for the Parks and Recreation Department and reports to the Parks Operations Forman for daily work tasks.
This position is slated for January 2026.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Mowing, Painting, Weeding, Raking, Shoveling, Tree Trimming, operating a ½ ton pickup, Hand mower, Weed eater, and Trash Collection
Must be able to:
- Follow written and/or verbal instructions and communicate with others
- Operate equipment such as power tools, mowers, shop equipment
- Always follow workplace safety rules
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers
- Handle difficult situations with tact, patience and good judgement
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license.
- Manual labor, prolonged standing, kneeling, bending, walking, climbing ladders and sitting
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds on a frequent basis
- Manual dexterity is enough to operate hand powered tools and equipment
- Vision enough to perform above functions and read printed instructions
- Must be able to pass post-offer employment background screening.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school education or GED equivalent
