The Town of Sudbury is currently accepting applications for the position of Conservation Land Manager. In this role, you will assist with management of town-owned conservation land and open space and assist with construction oversight for the Conservation Department.
Job duties include performing field reconnaissance, data collection, site inspections, land stewardship, education and volunteer outreach, and helping to keep conservation land safe and protected through oversight and enforcement of laws and regulations.
Typical qualifications for this position include a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, Natural Resources Management or related field and two years of relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license. Experience in wetland protection, land use management and/or experience in a municipal setting preferred.
Candidates should have familiarity with municipal government permitting, especially the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, be able to read and understand maps, construction drawings, and survey plans, able to use GPS and GIS applications and have basic woodworking and carpentry skills.
The full pay range for this position is $65,510–$86,165 per year (35 hours per week). Starting salary is based on qualifications and is typically in first half of range. The Town currently utilizes a predetermined step system for annual pay increases.
