What are the responsibilities and job description for the Art Spot Instructor position at Town of Silverthorne?
The Art Spot Instructor takes a lead role in instructing, planning, and organizing an age-appropriate curriculum and materials for art classes for children, youth and/or adults at the Art Spot. The instructor provides instruction for scheduled classes while providing a safe, fun, and positive learning experience to all participants. Art Spot Instructors may be hired to teach one or more of a wide variety of classes such as painting, drawing, ceramics, woodworking, printmaking, jewelry making, crafts and other art education. Required skill sets vary depending on class type. The pay range will vary based on the medium being taught and the skill level and liability associated with that medium. Below is an example of how the pay ranges may be associated:
Hiring Range is: $20.00 - $50.00
$20-$30/hour – Youth craft classes, drawing, acrylic painting
$30-$40/hour - Expertise knowledge or specialty skills needed- oil painting, jewelry making, printmaking, photography, 3-D Printing
$40-$50/hour- Specialty skills, expertise knowledge and/or mediums with equipment liability- woodworking equipment, soldering equipment for jewelry making, ceramics wheel instruction/use of the kiln
Instructors must have proven artistic ability and knowledge in the medium that will be instructed. Ability will be demonstrated through proven experience instructing the medium along with artistic experience as shown with certifications or degrees, a portfolio, a professional artist website or other documentation.
