What are the responsibilities and job description for the Street Equipment Operator position at Town of Silver City?
Responsible for the operation of all divisional light and heavy equipment when performing street operations, construction, maintenance, or repairs. Equipment consists of dump trucks, backhoe, street sweeper, power broom, grader, dozer, etc.
Must perform daily maintenance checks of equipment/vehicles. Will perform street maintenance duties to include patching, keeping city easements and rights-of-ways free of weeds and debris, painting of crosswalks and turn arrow, repair of potholes, etc. Performs traffic control and other duties as assigned. Working conditions: outdoors, exposure to dirt, heat, cold and noise.

Minimum Qualifications And Requirements
- Valid NM Commercial Drivers License
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three (3) years of experience with the operation of light and heavy equipment and general street maintenance but may be substituted with experience in related field.
- Familiarity with safe operation of equipment; ability to perform daily maintenance checks of equipment and vehicles; ability to lift fifty pounds (50 lbs.); and ability to pass drug and alcohol tests.
