What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transfer Station Foreman position at Town of Sandwich?
The Town of Sandwich seeking a Transfer Station Foreman. The Foreman oversees all operations at the Transfer Station and is a full-time, benefitted position. SWOT Certification, or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of employment is required. Applicants must have excellent customer service and communication skills to maintain a courteous relationship with the public and colleagues.
The Foreman is hired by the Board of Selectmen and reports directly to the Road Agent. The Foreman oversees all operations at the Transfer Station, manages waste disposal logistics, ensures safety compliance, interacts with the public, and operates heavy equipment.
The standard work week averages thirty-six (36) hours, including responsibilities outside of business hours. Regular business hours are currently Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 7:45 AM – 4:15 PM. Other responsibilities take place Monday, Tuesday and Thursday on a flexible schedule, as determined in coordination with the Road Agent. This schedule is subject to change at the discretion of the Selectboard.
