Job Title: Parks and Recreation Laborer

Job Summary:
The Parks and Recreation Laborer performs a variety of manual labor tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and improvement of recreational areas, cemeteries and public spaces. This role supports the beautification and safe use of public grounds, working under the direction of the Parks Supervisor or other designated staff
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain Park grounds by mowing, trimming, raking, weeding, watering, and planting vegetation.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on park facilities, and restrooms.
- Set up and take down equipment and materials for special events and recreational programs.
- Clean and empty trash receptacles; pick up litter and debris.
- Assist in landscaping projects, including tree planting and trail maintenance.
- Operate light equipment and tools such as lawnmowers, weed eaters, blowers, and hand tools.
- Report hazards, damage, or needed repairs to supervisors promptly.
- Follow all safety procedures and use proper personal protective equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Requires frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, and reaching.
- May include early morning, evening, weekend, or holiday hours depending on assignments.
